¡2011 gave us a leg up! We lived in Santiago for the last six months, participating in Start-Up Chile. It was a great time and we had the opportunity to meet interesting and inspiring people. Living and working in a community of vibrant startups lifts the level of motivation and dedication. It was a pleasure to experience the amazing Easter Island and the remarkably diverse chilean landscape, to enjoy the fruit flavored wines and to connect with the local chilean community.
Now we are back home, with the experience in our hearts, and innovation on our minds :) We have compiled a review of 2011 in the form of a newsletter, check it out here.

We are very happy and excited, Leafer is one of the 20 finalists to present at the Red Innova Startup Competition in São Paulo. From over a 500 applications, Red Innova just just shortlisted twenty and announced today, that “after a lengthy and rigorous process of selection done in partnership with Endeavor Brasil, it is with great satisfaction that we announce the 20 selected companies”. We will be in São Paulo and looking forward to pitch Leafer during the edition on November 29th and 30th.
About Red Innova:
Red Innova is an international conference on innovation, Internet, business and entrepreneurship, which takes place four times a year in Spain, Brazil, Uruguay and the US. Besides conferences from successful Latin American entrepreneurs, Red Innova is also hosting a Startup Competition for Ibero-American startups.
We have been selected from over 800 applicants to pitch Leafer at the exclusive European Venture Summit that will be held on November 28-29th in Düsseldorf, Germany.
After pitching and winning the Best Presentation Award at the Tech Media Europe in Porto, Portugal at the beginning of this year, we qualified for the finals of the European Venture Summit that “will feature winning companies from competitions held throughout Europe to showcase their businesses to international investors and other industry experts.”
We are looking forward, as it will be a lot of fun meeting all these great companies and to connect to European investors.
We had the pleasure to visit the Easter Island – Rapa Nui. As being part of the Chilean governmental program Start-Up Chile we took the opportunity and visited what is considered to be the most remote inhabited place in the world. It was a wonderful experience connecting with local entrepreneurs as well as experiencing this extra ordinary culture. After a week, we did not want to leave ;-)
